« In It’s gonna be ok, Anna de Castro Barbosa explores the timeless intimacy of the bed and the notion of soiling that can be associated with it. Where do these stains come from? From what fluids? From what contact? The smells, oscillating between the fishy scent of omega-3 jewellery capsules and the fresh, clean scent of laundry, link the stigma of stains to the olfactory representation of femininity. The scents evoke the two opposites of the purity of the saint and the corruption of the whore, which the history of representations has often imposed as choices for women. SB.
